vest

I finally sewed the seams on my newly knit vest and was able to wear it out on the town!! I really like the yarn I used, Amity, a washable wool blend. I think I might do a couple things differently if I were to make it again but overall I like it. Now on to knit the bikini....just kidding all though the book did have a couple...not recommended to swim in though. ( I found that part really funny.) I think that would show the highest level in self-confidence in your own knitting ability, to knit a bikini and wear it.

I finished fetching my hats.

Okay a silly play on words. I just finished my fetching fingerless gloves and hats for the boys. Ruth is modeling Dean's hat because he refused to be photographed. I really like the gloves. They are comfortable, warm and keep my fingers free. The boys hats are a big hit too. Now I am working on one for Wendell. (he got jealous...hehe) I am also busy working on some socks, two-at-a-time. Now if only I had time to go Christmas shopping. Is this a sign that my yarn addiction has gone too far? The beauty of shopping online...I can keep knitting.

Socks!!

Emma has kept a pair of socks on!!! I am suprised she has but even more suprising is that they are a pair I knitted a few years ago and never thought she would let me put them on her. They are made from magic stripes yarn and are definitely not cotton but she does like them. I am very happy because these are the first socks that I have made that any of my kids have walked in. Now Ruth insists she would like a pair of hand knit socks too. So I have more projects to do. Poor me :)

Twin Hats

Okay, I have pictures to share now. I am very excited about how the twin's hats turned out. I was even able to find outfits that matched the hats perfectly. My mom helped me pick them out at the outlet mall in Birch Run. I carried the hats in a baggie so I could find something to match and was very pleasantly suprised to find onesies, pants and preemie onesies at the Carter outlet. I just mailed them out today so they should arrive before the babies.

Emma's Poncho

I finished it! Emma's poncho is complete. The twins hats are complete. Now I can move onto some Christmas knitting. Hats and mittens have been calling to me so I am excited to start some new projects. I will update with some photos of the twins hats but for now here's Emma's poncho.

Pink Poncho

I finished Ruth's poncho. I have been wanting to make a seamless poncho for a very long time. Thanks to Wendlell's birthday gift (The Natural Knitter book). I have a great pattern now. It turned out great! I love the colors and all I used was wash cloth yarn. I have the yarn for Emma's poncho but I think I will take a break and make myself a calorimetry.

garterlac

I am attempting to learn something new. It isn't that pretty right now. A garterlac washcloth. I am taking baby steps toward enterlac knitting. I decided a washcloth because I have plenty of yarn and garterlac so as to keep it simple. Although when its garter stitch keeping the front/back straight is confusing. It may end up being very misshapen. Oh, well. I just thought I had to type it out. I am very excited to find something new to learn. I still have to finish the baby hats but I am putting it on hold to learn something new.
